Damn me, I'm alive & kicking, kinda weird after the very intense summer I had. As some of you may know, I did a teaching-and-live-in summer English camp (as a teacher, of course) in July in the most beautiful place, Villafranca de los Barros, in the hottest region of Spain, Extremadura. Only about 56 km away from us was Portugal, with all this brings along --- suffocating sun, not a single trace of clouds and/or rain, dry air... Well, they have the best smoked hams in Spain and probably in Europe, the food over there is simply great, the town knew everything about us (it had around 10,000 inhabitants, pretty small for this area of Spain); we were called "los americanos" even though out of the 10 crew who went there, three people weren't from the oversea state... And the kids... Maaaan, you have to see that. This was my first experience as a full-blown English professor (well, without a degree of course) and I couldn't have hoped for a better initiation. The group I led consisted of 12 people, aged 15 and 16. In total, there were 6 groups, 75 students and only 9 of us... so you can imagine how it felt when we finally got back to Madrid after these three weeks... My field was computers and this was what I taught in the morning to all groups. In the afternon we had workshops for which everybody had to sign-up in advance. Mine were music(!!), advertising and American cuisine. The music one was the greatest and on the final representation, Atanass' group kicked some ASS... They did 4 pieces, the opening and the ending... In the end, I realised I had some secret lovers... Right now, nearly two months after this thing's finished, I still get txt msgs, missed calls at 5 in the morning, emails and letters... I'm keeping some of them, they are really funny.
